Get to Know Tracey

Tracey Knutson has cared for skincare patients since 1996 and joined Skin Artisans Edina in June 2020. An Advanced Practice  Esthetician and educator, she has worked alongside dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and device experts, developing a strong  clinical perspective on skin rejuvenation and treatment safety. 

Tracey is recognized for her SkinPen microneedling expertise and also serves as a regional trainer with Beauty Architects. She  specializes in combination treatment plans using laser technologies, BBL, microneedling, and targeted skincare. With a focus on  education and clear communication, Tracey helps patients understand their options and build a practical plan for healthier looking skin over time.

My Treatment Philosophy

I believe skincare should never be one-size-fits-all.

The aesthetics industry can feel overwhelming, and I understand why. There are hundreds of treatments, dozens of lasers, and an endless stream of products making big claims. That’s why I put so much emphasis on patient education. I want you to understand why I’m recommending something, not just what I’m recommending.

I take a lot of pride in building comprehensive skin plans that pair in-clinic treatments with medical-grade skincare you can use at home. Real improvement happens when those two sides work together. My approach is never about quick fixes. It’s about meaningful changes that develop over time and genuinely hold up.

My goal with every patient is for you to leave each visit feeling informed and excited about what’s ahead for your skin.

One of my favorite concerns to treat is sun damage and uneven pigmentation, and BBL photorejuvenation is one of the most effective treatments for restoring a clearer, more even complexion, and the results speak for themselves.

I also love combining technologies to push results further. For example, pairing BBL with HALO laser resurfacing or alternating laser technologies over a series of visits can dramatically improve skin tone, texture, and overall quality in ways that a single treatment type can’t achieve on its own.

SkinPen microneedling holds a special place in my practice. I’m passionate about it as a treatment for my patients and as an educator who trains other providers on proper technique and safety protocols.

When it comes to skincare products, I gravitate toward formulas that support healthy cellular turnover and pigment correction, particularly retinol-based products and formulations designed to promote brighter, more even skin. Outside of the clinic, I love spending time outdoors whenever I can. You’ll often find me hiking, exploring nature, or planning trips with girlfriends to enjoy time away and recharge.
