Rachel Snyder, APRN, CNP Hormone Optimization & Medical Weight Loss Specialist
Nurse Practitioner Rachel Snyder likes to think that what makes her an exceptional provider is that she is an average, everyday, ordinary middle-aged woman, just like most of her patients! Like so many of us, she has struggled with her weight and skin throughout her life and, therefore, has deep compassion for how this can impact a person’s self-esteem and overall quality of life. But, instead of letting these obstacles hold her back, Rachel transformed her pain into purpose. After revitalizing her own life through medical weight loss and hormone optimization, Rachel now helps her patients do the same and embrace healthier, more confident, and happier lives.
Rachel is a Midwest transplant who grew up in sunny Glendora, California. As a child, she remembers being continuously drawn to helping and caring for others. This inclination naturally propelled her to pursue a career in nursing! Rachel’s educational pathway includes a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from Azusa Pacific University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University, focusing on family nurse practitioner.
After years of battling symptoms like brain fog, stubborn weight gain, and chronic fatigue that traditional medical providers failed to acknowledge or provide solutions for, Rachel took it upon herself to find answers. She took a deep dive into the science behind bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) and discovered how intricately our hormone health is woven into virtually every aspect of our health, from energy and weight loss to sex drive and mental clarity. At the same time, Rachel finally received a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition in which the thyroid gland attacks itself. She was able to take her newfound knowledge of BHRT to help manage her symptoms, help regain her energy, and improve her overall health and quality of life. As a result of her success, Rachel became a Biote® Bioidentical Hormone Optimization Certified Provider so she could share this transformative therapy with patients who were also struggling and help them reclaim their vitality and health.
Like so many of the patients she now works with, Rachel has struggled with her weight since she was 18 years old. Her success came when she discovered GLP-1 agonists, like semaglutide, for medical weight loss. These powerful peptides came across her nursing radar years ago, and she has since spent much time researching their benefits and applications before using them herself to ensure they were safe and efficacious for her patients. Rachel has since adopted a comprehensive medical weight loss program that balances GLP-1 therapies with nutritional, lifestyle, and behavioral modifications. She is excited that patients now have this incredible tool at their fingertips to help manage their weight, improve their health, and enhance their lives!
As a provider, Rachel prioritizes connection, education, and fun! She appreciates that discussing concerns like weight gain, low libido, and aging can make us all feel vulnerable. So, she goes above and beyond to get to know her patients and make them feel safe, understood, and comfortable when working with her. To Rachel, the best part of her profession is seeing patients return after a few months on GLP-1 therapy or BHRT brimming with energy, commenting on how their clothes now fit, and tearing up because they finally feel ALIVE again and love how they look! She believes the impact that medical weight loss and hormone optimization therapies can have on a patient’s life is absolutely endless, and she feels honored to be a part of that journey.
In her personal life, Rachel loves spending time with her husband, three children, and their dog, Gizmo! She comes from a long line of “water babies” and can usually be found boating on Lake Minnetonka in the summer or jet skiing on a river. Rachel practices what she preaches to patients and leads a healthy lifestyle full of exercise, clean eating, and gluten-free cooking! She is also an avid reader, connoisseur of reality TV shows, and volunteers for organizations within her local community.
