With over 25 years of experience in the aesthetics industry, Michelle Barker is proud to bring her deep-rooted passion for skincare and patient care to the expert team at Skin Artisans Woodbury. As a Licensed Esthetician since 1998, Michelle’s journey began early—working in a salon during high school, where she was first introduced to the transformative power of skincare. A pivotal internship with a distributor for a luxury skincare line further ignited her enthusiasm, and she knew then that helping people look and feel their best through skin health would be her life’s work.
Michelle is a graduate of the Saint Paul College Esthetician Program and has continually invested in advanced education throughout her career to stay at the forefront of her industry. She has completed pre-nursing coursework to further her understanding of the human body and skin physiology. Michelle also holds a Master CoolSculpting® Certificate from Allergan’s prestigious CoolSculpting® University and has undergone extensive training in laser and light-based treatments, including advanced BBL instruction under world-renowned aesthetic expert Dr. Patrick Bitter, Jr., MD. She is proficient on multiple laser platforms, including Lumenis, Sciton, and Alma Lasers, allowing her to deliver safe, customized treatments that reflect the latest in aesthetic technology.
Patients often describe Michelle as deeply dedicated, passionate, and full of heart—traits that shine through in every treatment she performs. She finds immense joy in building relationships with her patients and developing personalized skincare plans that not only achieve visible results but also improve confidence and quality of life. Her favorite treatments include BBL photorejuvenation, HALO laser resurfacing, and SkinPen microneedling, as she loves the transformative nature of these services and the results they help her achieve for her patients.
For Michelle, education doesn’t end in the classroom. She’s an enthusiastic student of her craft, constantly listening to skincare podcasts, reading industry journals, attending conferences, and soaking up the latest treatment techniques. Her genuine excitement for skincare is contagious, whether she’s chatting with patients in the treatment room or mentoring younger providers in the industry.
At the heart of Michelle’s approach is her philosophy: treat every patient like family. She wants her patients to feel truly heard, cared for, and empowered with each visit. Known for her warm hugs, high energy, and thoughtful touch, Michelle brings joy, professionalism, and results to every appointment. She believes that the right skincare journey can change how a person sees themselves, and she has been brought to tears by the emotional transformations she has witnessed over the years in her patients’ self-confidence and overall outlook on life.
Outside of work, Michelle is a proud mom to two boys and cherishes spending time with them up north at their family cabin, surrounded by nature and loved ones. She’s always on the hunt for a great new restaurant, loves traveling to new places, and has a well-known fondness for cold-brew coffee! Her personal mantra, passed down from her mother, is simple yet powerful: Be nice and have grace. It’s a mindset she brings to every interaction, both inside and outside the treatment room.
