Get to Know Me

Dr. Allison Heimer has spent her entire career dedicated to helping people feel healthier, happier, and more confident in their lives. While many patients know her today as a highly experienced cosmetic medicine physician, her medical career began more than two decades ago in a very different environment.

After graduating from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota, Dr. Allison earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. She then completed her Emergency Medicine residency at the Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in Michigan.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Allison worked as an Emergency Medicine physician, practicing not only in the United States but also internationally in Australia and New Zealand. These experiences exposed her to diverse cultures, patient populations, and healthcare systems, shaping her into a compassionate and adaptable physician who values meaningful relationships with her patients.

As her career evolved and her children grew older, Dr. Allison began exploring aesthetic medicine as a way to combine her love of science, technology, and artistry while enjoying more balance in her life. What started as a new professional direction quickly became a passion.

Today, Dr. Allison brings more than a decade of experience in aesthetic medicine and a uniquely comprehensive perspective to her work at Skin Artisans.

My Treatment Philosophy

I believe the best aesthetic results come from treating the whole person, not just one concern or area of the face.

My approach integrates multiple modalities including, cosmetic injectables, advanced laser technology, hormone optimization, and medical weight loss, to support both how patients look and how they feel.

I’m especially passionate about helping women navigate perimenopause and menopause, where hormone balance can significantly impact energy, mood, sleep, skin health, weight, and overall well-being.

Ultimately, my goal is always the same: to help patients achieve natural-looking results that enhance their confidence while preserving what makes them uniquely beautiful.

My Favorite Treatments & Products

I truly enjoy combining treatments that support long-term skin health and rejuvenation.

Some of my favorite treatments include annual HALO® laser treatments, which dramatically improve skin tone and texture, and BBL® and MOXI® laser treatments throughout the year to maintain healthy, radiant skin.

I also love incorporating Sculptra® to stimulate collagen production and restore youthful skin structure over time.

When it comes to injectables, Botox® and Daxxify® are some of my favorite treatments for preventing and softening expression lines while maintaining natural facial movement.

For many patients, combining these treatments with BioTE® hormone optimization therapy can enhance both skin health and overall vitality.

Where You’ll Find Me Outside Skin Artisans

Outside of the clinic, I love spending as much time outdoors as possible.

I enjoy traveling, gardening, golfing, and playing pickleball, and I especially love spending time on the lake with family and friends. Experiencing new cultures and places has always been an important part of my life, and I continue to enjoy exploring the world whenever I can.

Above all, time with my family and loved ones is what I cherish most.
