What is ClearSilk®?

ClearSilk® by Sciton® is a gentle, non-ablative laser technology that uses photothermolysis to safely target and destroy unwanted cells in the skin that contribute to pigmentation and redness. Each treatment improves your skin’s texture and tone and stimulates collagen production to enhance skin’s smoothness and resiliency. Unlike other laser treatments, ClearSilk® can safely be used on any skin type or color and at any time of the year, including summer. This versatility makes it very convenient to fit into even the busiest schedules, especially because there is ZERO downtime after a ClearSilk® treatment!

How does ClearSilk® work?

The laser energy that ClearSilk® emits is delivered in short pulses across the skin. This technique minimizes the damage to surrounding tissue and allows for precise targeting of unwanted cells. During a treatment, ClearSilk® deposits heat deep beneath the skin’s surface, stimulating fibroblast activity. This triggers your skin’s natural repair process, which boosts collagen production and causes the skin to heal smoother, clearer, and with enhanced vibrancy!

Who is a good candidate for ClearSilk®?

ClearSilk® is suitable for all skin types and skin colors. It is ideal for all ages, from younger patients looking to treat and prevent common skin concerns to older patients who prefer effective treatments with no downtime or disruptions to their social schedules. Because results with ClearSilk® build over time, patients with moderate to severe skin concerns may prefer alternative treatments like HALO™ to improve their skin more quickly, but with extended downtime. Your Skin Artisans Advanced Practice Esthetician will help you determine which laser treatment is best for you based on your goals and desired downtime.

What is a ClearSilk® treatment like?

A ClearSilk® treatment can take as little as 30 minutes, depending on the size of the body area treated. No numbing is needed before treatment. During ClearSilk®, your Skin Artisans provider will gently glide the laser handpiece about ½ inch away from the surface of your skin as the laser pulses. You should feel no discomfort, only a mild sensation of heat. This heat can persist for up to an hour after your treatment.

How do I care for my skin after a ClearSilk® treatment?

ClearSilk® is a true lunchtime treatment. You could have it performed on your lunch break, apply makeup immediately after treatment, and return to work without anyone knowing you had a procedure performed!

Following a ClearSilk® treatment, you may experience a slight flush and warmth to your skin. This should subside within a few hours and is a natural and expected response by the skin. It is important to wear a physical sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher immediately after your treatment and avoid direct sun exposure for 24 hours. Your Skin Artisans esthetician will advise you on further post-care instructions and recommended products.

What results can I expect after ClearSilk®?

Results with ClearSilk® are subtle yet noticeable. After one treatment, you will notice a refreshed, youthful vitality to your skin, but a series of treatments is recommended to achieve more significant improvement. Expect your results to continue to build and improve with each subsequent treatment. ClearSilk® can also be combined with other procedures, like BBL®, to enhance your overall result.

At Skin Artisans, we recommend a series of 4 to 6 ClearSilk® treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart to see more dramatic results for your skin. After that, you may choose to maintain your results by scheduling a ClearSilk® every quarter or anytime you want to give your skin an instant boost of radiance!
