Skin Artisans has assembled a team of some of the most talented and experienced Injection Specialists in the entire Midwest to help you on your journey. We are therefore thrilled to welcome Polly Beran, RN-BSN to that team this month! With over 16 years of experience as an Injection Specialist, she brings an immense portfolio of aesthetic skill to Skin Artisans and our patients!
Polly’s nursing career began after she graduated from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois, with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. Her passion for caring for others quickly routed her towards working with children as a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse. This specialty allowed her to practice across the country from Hawaii and New Mexico to Georgia and, finally, Minnesota. Polly believes that her experience in working with children and their families shaped her style of patient care and the compassion and understanding that she extends to every patient she touches. Over the years, she has learned to become an excellent listener and prides herself on making a patient feel just as wonderful as they look!
As a young adult, Polly struggled with acne. She attributes this battle for catalyzing her lifelong interest in skincare and the essential correlation between how we look on the outside and feel on the inside. It’s no wonder then, that in 2004, Polly decided to transition her career to the world of medical esthetics. She was hired as a Cosmetic Nurse Injector at a very well respected and prestigious dermatology practice in the Minneapolis area and remained with that clinic for 16 years! During her time at this clinic, Polly not only expanded her career as an Injection Specialist, but she also developed her knowledge base of a broad range of dermatological diseases and conditions. Her skill-set began to diversify to also include laser skin treatments, physician-grade skincare prescriptions, and mapping out quarterly and annual treatment plans for her patients. In fact, Polly even earned her Esthetician License from St. Paul Technical College to heighten her understanding of the skincare world and share this with her patients.
After 16 plus years in practice, Polly has developed a large patient base that now feels almost like family! Her calm, warm nature and expert level injecting skills have awarded her great loyalty in her field. Polly’s patients often call her an “artist of the face” due to her keen eye for detail and capacity to create incredibly natural-looking results. She loves blending her diverse background and inherent vision for balance and symmetry to help her patients achieve their appearance goals. Polly believes that when she can help someone feel more confident about their external beauty, their inner beauty shines even brighter!
When Polly can’t be found with a syringe of dermal filler in her hand, you may find her with a shovel and watering can! She loves gardening and creating beauty in her home just as much as in the clinic! Polly is passionate about traveling and learning about other cultures, as well as the latest injection techniques at the many continuing education courses she attends each year. When asked what her life mantra is, Polly says it’s simple but encompasses so much…”Be Kind.”
